JESSIE J ACOUSTIC SESSIONS

As an artist, Jessie J has hit the nail on the head. Speaking in an interview recently, she explained that whenever she felt rubbish, or that she couldn’t go on, she wrote about what she wanted to be like. She has not had a perfect life (like the rest of us) and she wants to write music to help people. Her third album has been a success and what I really want to share with you today is some acoustic tracks she shared on Youtube. It’s her and a guitarist in a warehouse, no microphones and no auto tune. The videos really show off her talent and even if she isn’t your cup of tea, it really is beautiful.

The first song is ‘Sweet Talker’; it’s the title of her new album and is really beautiful. Her voice is unique, and that’s what I like about her, is that she isn’t afraid to let that side of her out and show it to the world.


The second song is ‘Masterpiece’; this is the first single she properly released and although my parents aren’t a fan, this kind of music isn’t for them. She manages to balance her over-powering voice and the riffs.


‘Keep Us Together’ is the third song of this set of acoustic records from Jessie. This song is interesting, on the album I wasn’t particularly keen, but now I listen to a stripped back version you actually here the song for what it is. She makes it look so easy, which is another thing I really like about her, the effortlessness of her performance makes it a lot easier to connect with as it feels more personal.


‘Ain’t Been Done’ is probably my favourite song on the album because whenever I’m feeling a bit down, it brings me right up. The chorus is very catchy and gets me into a good mood.

THREE DAYS GRACE - 13TH JANUARY 2016

I think it is a pretty safe assumption that I’m no rock chick, or any kind of social stereotype really. Perhaps I’m a misfit, but as I discovered when going to see Three Days Grace...I am not going to be getting any facial piercings or tattoos any time soon. I went with a good friend to see them and they’re something else - a Canadian heavy rock band that make really cool music. Initially I was introduced to them quite a while ago when my brother wanted their One-X album, but they were far too heavy for me. Over time I’ve come to discover that there is no way for me to differentiate my musical taste, it varies massively and to be honest, I’m a misfit wherever I go. SKILLS FOR LIFE CAMPAIGN ADVERT

It all started in July 2023, when I sent off a video of myself speaking for 30 seconds and some information about my apprenticeship, company, and background. In September, I was contacted by the casting agency working on behalf of the Department for Education to be part of a filming shoot in mid-October. I was understandably really excited, what could this mean – they gave me an idea that it could be billboards, adverts, posters, and banners, but I didn’t know which part of that I’d be involved in.   They sent me all the information running up to the event where I’d be off to shoot for a TV advert in Manchester in mid-October 2023. I took the 5 hour train up to Manchester one Wednesday afternoon, and stayed in a hotel overnight anxiously awaiting the call sheet they would send me later.
